I plan on doing some preventative/needed maintenance over spring break on the crapcan. Some of which involves bodywork and electrical.

The first thing on the list: Cosmetic

Kinja'd!!!

There's a couple (read:too many) rust spots. Such as above the windshield. I want to fix them and cover with white spray paint and clear to at least temporarily prevent the spots getting worse. The problem is, I don't really know how I should go about it, do I sand it or do I need something a little more powerful, such as a grinder? I'm a little concerned about them being more than just surface rust, too.

Next on the list: Mechanical

Kinja'd!!!

I think there's some hoses, or the entire radiator leaking. I keep seeing random puddles show up up front after I drive it. Also the exhaust is loose and rattles when idling. Maybe convince my parents for some new spark plugs, too.

Final Thing: Electrical

Kinja'd!!!

The passenger side electrics are completely wonky. The passenger side door light won't shut off, and the front blinker doesn't flash when you arm the security system, but does when you turn on the signals via the stalk. I have to dig through all the bundles and bundles of wires under the dash, which is always exciting.

Idk how to interpret that. It the suspension bad, or are the people heavy?

The suspension could very well be bad. I don't even know that last time shocks were changed.

I stripped out the back seats in mine. We use mine to haul stuff, but it has other uses too.

Yeah, if they have never been replaced before, you might want to replace them. If they have, you might want to replace them.
